John Cole says it and I'm in complete agreement: I’ve said this before, and I will say it again. Unless your proposal includes a substantial increase in taxes and a substantial amount of cuts to the military budget as well as ending the farm subsidies and giveaways to big oil and big energy and big business, you can kindly just shut up about the deficit and the debt. Additionally, any cuts to entitlements need to include cuts to the CURRENT recipients, not grandfathering the boomers and then wondering why the cuts never materialize in the future. What a weekend! The fiance and I took off Friday, she said she had a surprise for me, so of course I was down for taking off work. So what was the surprise? A class at Chopping Block , knife skillz (as a ninja I am rather proficient with a sword, however knife skillz for the kitchen I am not as ninja like). For two hours we learned about the proper knives to use in the kitchen, techniques and best practices for cleaning knives. I must say it was a heckuva a good time. I now feel way more comfortable with my prep work for cooking and I'm not afraid to knife some vegetables no matter what they may be. Two thumbs up! We spent the rest of the weekend together making some early wedding plans and checking out local restaurants we've yet to dine at including DMK Burger , and Hearty Boys Cafe . All in all a great three day weekend! We aren't much Valentine's Day people, but we will be getting dinner tonight at Ceres' Table . Yes we're a little cheesy being newly engaged...

It is going to be a busy day today in Frank world. Lots and lots more going on. The exciting event of yesterday was I finally got a new pair of shoes! For running that is...it is quite a change. Secretary of DE -FENSE Robert Gates announced today cut backs in the defense budget . One of the major Pew Pews to be struck from the military's arsenal was the F-22 Raptor . The reason? Well we already have 187 of them and their sole purpose was to fight off Communist Russia. Yep. That's right. And currently we don't even use them for the two wars we have going on you know Mission Accomplished and Whack A Taliban ... NOT ONE HAS BEEN USED !
