Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-N.H.) said that both Republican and Democratic women members of Congress understand how to care for relatives and thus want the healthcare system to change.
"We go to the ladies room and the Republican women and the Democratic women and we just roll our eyes," she said. "And the Republican women said when we were fighting over the healthcare bill, if we sent the men home..." at which point she was interrupted by loud applause.
"You know why? I'm not trying to diss the men but I'm telling you it's the truth that every single woman there has been responsible for taking care of a [relatives] and so we think we can find a common ground there," she said.
I am not sure about finding common ground with some of the right-wing Republican females like Michele Bachmann, however it does stand to reason that better representation by women in Congress and the Senate would lead to more coalescing over health care reform. They are the more rational sex after all.

Women are the more rational sex? I'm no psych major, but my understanding is that women tend to be more compassionate and feeling, which would make them better at constructing a health CARE system as opposed to the cold, unfeeling free market system currently in place. Certainly 50% of the population should be better represented in public office.
Yes, her point was exactly what you state. And it is 51% of the population now, us dudes are going extinct!
The rational sex is a reference to Aristotle. "Woman is not a rational animal."
