Stay Classy Hollywood, Asian Hating Alert

Dude I am so Angry I am being played by some kid from Disney RAAGE!

So us Asians have good ideas, cool characters, and nice stories that are better translated to the main stream with white actors?

Angry Asian Man caught this gem:

white guy stars as asian comic book hero
More white people playing Asians! Hey, it's the Hollywood way. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the very Caucasian star of the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place, will star in The Weapon, based on the Platinum Studios comic series: 'Waverly' star joins 'Weapon' adaptation.
David Henrie will star as martial arts enthusiast and inventor Tommy Zhou, "who has developed a ground-breaking portable innovation that an evil order will stop at nothing to steal." Evil orders tend to do that.
I am not familiar with The Weapon, but from what I've read about it, Tommy Zhou is indeed an Asian character. David Henrie, who I had never even heard of before reading this news item, is not an Asian person. Hooray for Hollywood, you've done it again. That's racist!
No matter -- young Mr. Henrie is just excited that "[his] Disney audience will enjoy the empowerment and action-filled journey [his] character experiences." Yes, perhaps even enough to look the other way when they find out that Tommy Zhou is supposed to be Chinese American.
Hey, how about empowering a young Chinese American actor instead? Ha hahahahaha. I know, I'm sorry. That's practically unthinkable. Hollywood, casting actual Asians as Asian heroes? No way. That's just silly.

It is not only silly and racist, but stupid. Why don't they just call it something else? Does Hollywood really think those who loved the original can just forget a KEY CHARACTER ELEMENT. This white washing of stories is a Hollywood constant, after the Last Airbender scam, it is not a surprise, but still I AM GOING TO BREAK MY DESK PEOPLE! The only thing that would piss me off more is if they casted Clint Eastwood randomly just so he can save more dirty fergners from themselves. Hollywood for all its self-agrandizing has a long history from Dr. Fu Manchu, to Breakfast at Tiffany's to the Bond films and maybe a new...Red Dawn is all about the Asian villain and not the Asian hero, (unless of course it is a martial arts movie played off as a Hollywood "backed movie) it is just good old racism.

With any luck Akira is the next movie to be destroyed, stripped of its original plot, story and characters for a Leonardo Di Caprio cheesefest. And after it all the producers and directors will say the original we all remember is somehow intact. Thanks for nothing Hollywood and please JUST CALL THESE MOVIES SOMETHING ELSE!!!
