 March Madness!! The Illini dropped out to a tough  Kentucky squad while other Big Ten teams faired better. It was a wild season. We came in with low expectations, and the team performed better than I thought was possible. Although wildly inconsistent, that comes with youth. 

The Trump administration is on a Friday dump cycle. Whether it be layoffs, break-ins, or inside proclamations. Friday is the day they choose to put all that shit in the universe. Expect more this Friday. 

Here are your highlights: 

The economy isn't Recessionary...yet. It is silly to tank the economy to own the Libs, but here we are.

23andMe files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. This isn't alarming, as the company has struggled for years. HOWEVER, I worked in the bankruptcy industry during the Great Recession, and the run-up is eerily familiar. Companies and individuals of high status slowly trickled into our systems, and then it happened. One after the other. I'm particularly interested in companies that were pumped full of VC cash post-pandemic. If we have another Recession, Silicon Valley will be the catalyst this time. Having worked previously for a company that received a ton of VC money and was cooking the books for years. I hope I'm wrong.

This is frightening. Right-wing legislators in Texas are proposing changes to our history books and they might actually be successful. TPM : The conservative bloc on the Texas State Board of Education won a string of victories Friday, obtaining approval for an amendment requiring high school U.S. history students to know about Phyllis Schlafly and the Contract with America as well as inserting a clause that aims to justify McCarthyism. Outspoken conservative board member Don McLeroy, who reportedly spent over three hours personally proposing changes to the textbook standards, even wanted to cut "hip-hop" in favor of "country" in a section about the impact of cultural movements. That amendment failed. The board also voted to delay further debate on the nationally influential standards until March, with a final adoption vote now scheduled for May.
