Lt. Colonel Birther

Even if this officer was shown Ba-rock Obamer's birth certificate, I highly doubt he would be satisfied.

Talking Points Memo
:

A decorated Army doctor who publicly announced last month that he is refusing to follow orders because he believes Barack Obama may be ineligible to be president is now under investigation after failing to report for duty at Fort Campbell in Kentucky, a military spokesman tells TPMmuckraker.

NBC is reporting, citing unnamed military officials, that the Army will court martial Lt. Col Terrence Lakin.

Lakin's case has become an instant cause célèbre for Birthers since he declared in a YouTube video and press release late last month that he would refuse orders to deploy for a second tour in Afghanistan until Obama produces his birth certificate.

According to his bio on the site of the American Patriot Foundation, a Washington based-group that is promoting Lakin, the 18-year Army vet is chief of primary care and flight surgeon for the Pentagon's DiLorenzo Health Clinic and has received the Combat Medical Badge and the Bronze Star.

The case could become a rallying cry for Birther adherents, who are already talking up Lakin as a "martyr" for the cause.

Our country is probably better off without Lt. Col Lakin serving in our nation's military. He is clearly a disturbed individual who needs help and classes on teh internets since Barack Obama's "Constitutional eligibility" was confirmed, oh I don't know YEARS AGO! People like this will never find a Democratic nor a black president legitimate, no matter what you tell them or show them.

Heck, we could invent a time machine (paging Doc and Marty McFly.) Then take that time machine back to August 4, 1961 at 7:24pm Hawaii and let them witness the live birth of the second coming of Satan aka Barack Obama after which they would STILL claim it was a hoax. Someone needs to do genetic research on these people and determine what it is that makes them so damn ignorant, then find a way to block their genetic code from spreading and stop teh stupid.

I hate when Mike Judge is right.

It is perhaps a waste of energy to point out yet another wingnut irony, but I feel compelled to do so anyhow. The wars that this guy is refusing to go to were all started by Bush who was without any question by any lunatic:

1) The president
2) A native born US citizen

So even if he believes Obama to not be president, the wars he's being asked to deploy to were initiated by a President he would deem legitimate. Given that, his action here is anti-american and unpatriotic because he's actually disobeying orders that are ultimately necessitated by the previous president's actions. If Obama had never been elected, this yahoo's orders would remain largely unchanged.

And now for the deep and amazing irony here. This is the kind of yahoo who would accuse the libs in this country of being anti-american for questioning the President. Not for questioning orders. Not for DISOBEYING orders. But simply for expressing a political opinion in contradiction to the sitting president of the United States. And yet, this clown is a disserter and thinks that's a patriotic act.

I look forward to this guy being court marshaled. I look forward to him getting a proper legal trial under the rules laid out in the army field manual. After his conviction for dessertion I'm sure he'll spend a good long time at Leavenworth. I imagine the whole time he'll think he's the victim of some kind of Mason derived plot to destroy the country, but he'll have received the justice he so richly deserves.

Terry Lakin will find out that beliefs and facts are two very different things and in the end his courts-martial will be his own public humiliation for believing something he can not prove. I would love to be there during the military trial and find out what facts he has, internet gossip? Let's face it no one will take the Birthers seriously until they win a case, but until then, they will continue to appear dumb, crazy or racist, or maybe all three. The old GOP Confederacy, that is what these liars want, good luck with that.

Short version: they will continue to appear dumb, crazy or racist, or maybe all three.

They won't win a case because they have ZERO legal basis. Ironically John McCain's presidential eligibility was far more questionable seeing as he was born in Panama.
