I had to take the day off yesterday. Had an MRI; it turned out okay, so that was a relief. My doctor prescribed me stronger meds, which are working.  As our world burns, it's great to know every other country recognizes the dire situation we're in. Yet this administration continues to set us back.  I've been out with a migraine from hell. It started last Monday and really only let up a little yesterday. I've never experienced a headache (pounding and relentless) for so long. I was in bed, blinds closed, and miserable. Nothing worked. I went to urgent care; they gave me a steroid shot and some pills. It didn't work. I think the worst is over, but I'm still at maybe 60%.  I'd like to see some pushback about the death penalty. The death penalty is inhumane. Period. And Florida is going to execute a 13th man this year . No civil society operates the way Florida does.  School starts next week. I've seen countless pictures of kids on their first day of school (some start earlier). Our kids are stocked up and ready to go. It's wild how summer went so fast. I try to remind our girls that these summers are the best. That the time we spend together isn't infinite. But they're kids. So I hold them tighter, put on a movie, make popcorn, and soak it in. I had an unfortunate accident this weekend. My youngest was following me down the stairs and tripped; she then fell on my legs, knocking me down the stairs. She's kind of a klutz. I tumbled down the stairs and immediately had back spasms. This morning they continued. I'm due for an MRI, so I guess...good timing? I'm in pain. I'm frustrated. I'm tired. I've got an odd confession: I love watching "Walking Tour" videos of Chinese cities. It's a place I'll likely never be able to visit because I support Hong Kong.
