Get Your Dunkin Monday

It was wild wild one. A game to remember for its utter absurdity and its tension filled finish. Man, I'm gonna miss football! Congrats to the Ravens the game played out close to how I thought it would...except for the blackout. What an odd Super Bowl story, but hey it's the NFL! Time for my man RG3 to get healthy and rocket back to the playoffs. Here are your highlights: John Harbaugh and the Ravens White House AAPI will be in Houston on February 23rd Going Godwin The new GOP strategy "Extortion politics" Man spends 7 years drawing an incredible maze Howard Kurtz sucks -- more defense of the right-wing media And the best news, Robert Griffin III wins the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year !! It wasn't even close and a much deserved accomplishment for the young QB. A quick and healthy recovery to RG3! Chow!

Get Your Dunkin Thursday

(h/t Paddy K) Thursday? Already? Man, these days are blurring. The lady and I are less than two months away from our big day and the planning is now down to the gritty details. I'm making song lists for the dj, figuring out tuxes and itineraries for the day. I'm waiting for a suit to get transferred in, so I can be fitted. It's all crunch time, go time...and I'm pumped. In other news, I'm resigning with my agent this weekend, contracts and all. Good things to come. Good things. Here are your highlights: U.S rethinking Chen Guangcheng's wish to stay in China, official says Ashton Kutcher is a complete idiot. Also too, NOT funny . Junior Seau, football great, found dead by apparent suicide . TNC calls it quits with the NFL . Modern day gladiators. No, you don't understand the unemployed or the recession one bit Lance Roberts, wanksta And for a laugh, Worst X-Men tattoo ever Chow!

View from My Skins Seats

Over the holiday I was able to attend the Redskins v. Giants game. The lady and I had a great time, despite the loss and surprisingly cold weather. There's nothing like hearing the band play and having a ruckus crowd hyped to see the home team. I have had season tickets now going on three years. It has given me some unbelievable memories, however with an upcoming change in my life I need to part ways with them. If you or anyone you know would be interested simply email me . I can transfer the tickets (Club Level Two seats with an Orange Parking pass, tons of perks including the heated, comfortable Club Section lounges) for the next three seasons. I wish I could keep em', but I'd be more than happy to transfer them to a fellow fan. HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!! I am Frank Chow and I approved this message

Bear Down

Hoping the home team fares better than my picks from yesterday. Damn the Packers and Steelers , two of my least favorite teams in the NFL. Raves- Steelers: The second half was a complete FLACCO FAIL . Yes, there were two drops, but two drops doesn't negate a terrible game; fumble, interception, 16/30 125 yds and wilting at the end of the game. Wasn't this kid known for his arm? He threw weak passes until the fourth down ball to TJ and that ball arrived late. He didn't show me he had the mettle to be a top quarterback in the league AND I'm tired of commentators protecting quarterbacks reputations. The kid didn't play well all game. Just say it. Total meltdown by the D as well on the 3 and 17. Great helmet catch! Falcons- Packers: Um...wow. The Packers have the swagger they'd been missing for most of the year. They were an early pick by some to go to the Super Bowl. Now that Rodgers is healthy, um...wow. It wasn't even close. I've never seen a playoff sta...

NFL Weekend

Finished recording the first episode of 2011 of TAT , a fun look back at 2010! Can't wait to share the lists and our highlights. In other news it's another NFL playoff weekend . I'm picking the Ravens for the upset (p.s. can't stand the Steelers) and the Falcons to move onward toward the next round. Should be fun to watch...would be nice if the Redskins could manage to the make the playoffs...in this lifetime. *Le Sigh. We're going out tonight, remind me not to drink more than five gin & tonics! Rex-skins

Will look something like this for the remainder of the season. Donovan McNabb deserves better . Here's hoping he gets his due respect and lands on a team where the coaches don't scape goat him. Playing injured for most of the season with sub-par talent around him the majority of the season, that's Redskins' football. It's something the Shanahans obviously know nothing about . What a disappointing end. The McNabb jersey's on sale already... I'm doing the stay in and chill thang today. Laundry, physical therapy exercises and cleaning. It's the Cowboys and I can't even bare to watch, how depressing is that? At least I'm on vacation and I'm done with my Christmas shopping! It's the little things this time of year that get me psyched. I am Frank Chow and I approved this message

Redskins Play Today

And I refuse to watch . Every year is a rebuilding year. Le Sigh. At least the Bears are playing the Patriots. It will be a real test for both teams. I'm hoping the Bears put Tom Brady in a hurt locker. I am Frank Chow and I approved this message Update: They were who we thought they were . Only the Redskins can get an extra down, score a TD and still find a way to lose. *Le Super Sigh

Redskins v. Eagles

Pre-game ritual has begun. Hoping our "D" shows up and puts Vick in a hurt locker. Anything will be better than last week. Fight on, Sons of Washington! Hail to the Redskins! I am Frank Chow and I approved this message FALL FUND DRIVE, KEEP FRANK'S SIS IN SCHOOL:

BEAT DALLAS!!!

The first game of the season is tonight . This is the time of the year that I turn into a young kid from Virginia. Loud, overly excited and without a care for what my team might look like on paper. Everybody is 0-0 today (hopefully McNabb is healthy). I will be heading to a local fan get together called "Fight for Old DC." The bar they convene at is called Maeve for anyone interested. I will hanging out with two old friends from my neighborhood. Regardless of the outcome, the season has begun and all is well. Hail to the Redskins! Beat Dallas! I am Frank Chow and I am a football-head

Redskins Offense Will Wear Defenses Down

An inspiring article about Mike Shanahan's offensive philosophy . It may not be on its best this year, but the man has true grit and a track record that proves he knows how to make it work. I cannot wait for this season to begin. It will be nice to see the Burgundy & Gold knocking some heads. Hail to the Redskins! Chow!

Ed Wang pens deal with the Buffalo Bills

Image
WIVB : Offensive Tackle Ed Wang signed a deal with the team Thursday. The terms were not disclosed. Wang started 36-games during his career at Virginia Tech. He's a 6-5, 301 pound offensive lineman who was second team All ACC last year. Wang is the first Chinese-American player drafted into the NFL . The Bills have been working him at left tackle during their offseason practices, and he's expected to be a backup on the offensive line this year. Congrats and three cheers to Ed Wang for breaking through. I remember playing guard in Pop Warner as a kid and can only imagine what it would have been like seeing an Chinese-American offensive lineman get drafted. Hopefully Wang has a long and storied career while being a positive influence for others. KENO! I am Frank Chow and I approved this message

HGH and a Sporting Question

Sally Jenkins offers an interesting take on the HGH controversy and our own moral dilemma : When we crack down on "performance-enhancers," are we trying to preserve the integrity of the competition or the health of the athlete? Is it safer and ethically more acceptable to use HGH to heal from an injury than to use it as a muscle-builder? If so, why isn't the difference reflected in doping regulations? Rather than work all of this out, we've allowed the anti-doping authorities to lump all substances and all athletes who sample them, regardless of their motives, into one equally guilty party. That way we don't have to do any hard thinking . Worth the read . I am Frank Chow and I approved this message

Insane in teh Membrane

Going to try to play basketball today, why? Because I am a glutton for punishment and I haven't been able to workout all week making me feel slovenly. Watching the NFL Draft, the Redskins pick is around the corner, Campbell trade in the mix? Let's hope the kid gets an offensive line he deserves that at least. I love watching the draft as a fan. With each pick we all feel our team is one missing piece away from the Super Bowl. Hail to the Redskins! Enjoy your Saturday! Chow!

Get Your Dunkin Friday

Last night brought the ruckus. The ladies at RIOT Comedy in Chicago were kind enough to have me and some amazing comics perform. Laughter ensued. I keep telling myself I need to plan better for shows, but alas I didn't have enough time for this one and it still turned out to be fun. I will admit though...the booze probably made me feel that way. LOL. Gotta love coming to work on a Friday after rockin' a show. This weekend, is gonna be pretty chill. My lady is still in Florida, my foot still stings and boxing is on , so I think I will maybe try out a new recipe or a new micro brew. That is about it. I know I am getting old, I have learned to accept that. Here are your highlights: Don't Cry for Wall St. A bailout FOR GREECE Lt. Col Birther for teh court martial Stay classy OH Republicans: "Put her in back in the kitchen" to Rep. Betty Sutton Round 1 NFL Draft : The good, the bad and the Tebow Health care reform. Check. The earthquake that struck Haiti has left complete devastation . The early reports have not been promising and country that just seemed to be turning is now in disarray. Many organizations have avenues for you to donate and help out the relief efforts including former President Bill Clinton's Foundation . Get Your Dunkin Monday

Well it was a GaGa weekend, I took the lady to the Rosemont Theater to see Lady Gaga live and she was beyond thrilled. Needless to say it was quite entertaining, no pants, lots of dancing and tons of whacked out and weirdness to go around. I think I might have found a hobby better than people watching at the airport, Gaga fans (or "Little Monsters" as she refers to them) watching. It was great to see the lady enjoying herself and although Gaga isn't my particular musical tastes, girl puts on a good show. So this was the weekend of Gaga. I did get in some football on Sunday and let me tell you, Arizona and Green Bay had no intention of playing defense. It was hard to watch at times. How do you miss a 34 yard chip shot? An amazing finish though for Arizona , who should have a shoot out next week in New Orleans. Here are your highlights: Obama looks to impose fees on banks , awww this sounds like...KARMA! (although I doubt it will be as stringent as I would propose) The Vil...
