TATPodcast Episode 11 - It's On!

This will be the last episode you'll hear from me as a "single" man. I'm headed off to Chicago to marry the love of my life. I honestly can't wait and wish it were tomorrow (June 23rd to be exact). There has been so much that has happened since we got engaged about a year and half ago...that it's finally happening is somewhat of a relief. I'll spare you all the gush and sentimental stuff, however I will say I couldn't be more blessed. I've met my better half, my partner in crime, and my best friend...I'm lucky enough to be marrying her. And at the end of all this, you may be able to get a better glimpse of me, who and what I really am. Hopefully Paddy K and I's humble podcast has offered a bit of an introduction, however I'll be able to share more post-marriage. It's only just begun. Thanks for stopping by! I got to sleep in. Sort of. I dropped off my lady at work this morning, then decided "Hey, it's my day off," and went back to bed. Lovely. And we're back! Due to trans-continental and trans-Atlantic moves, the TAT was delayed but we've got our act together and have drinks and tunes to discuss. On this installment, we discuss the merits of a name change and their relation to hallucinogenic drugs and diseases. Moving rapidly into drinks, Paddy details his rediscovery of Washington, DC and the abundance of craft beers on offer, specifically DC Brau . Frank gets sniffy with some Gran Centenario Anejo tequila, Old World Spirits Blade Gin , and shares a prohibition cocktail recipe, the Aviation. Trans-Atlantic Throwdown- Interview with Colombian Necktie

I had the chance to interview two members of the LA band Colombian Necktie. Take a listen and get to know this band as they are truly in West Coast terms EPIC. Bio : LA's Colombian Necktie have been together for just over a year and have quickly made their mark on the flourishing West Coast hardcore/punk/metal scene. The music is honest to its core, like the band's D.I.Y. ethics and beliefs. They are successfully bridging gaps between subgenres and constantly experimenting with sound and feel, which can be heard on their negatively charged self-titled EP. And the intensity doesn't stop there; Colombian Necktie's live show is chaotic, unafraid and destuctive. Fueled by creativity, aggression and passion, Colombian Necktie is a force of nature that isn't slowing down anytime soon. This is the first of what will hopefully be many interviews on the Trans-Atlantic Throwdown . Links for Colombian Necktie : http://www.facebook.com/colombiannecktiela http://colombianneckti...

Aaaaacting! Does anyone remember that SNL skit with Jon Lovitz? I attended a workshop yesterday and a highly respected studio and when I left that's the first thing I thought of...then I got home and wanted to explain it to my lady. She didn't get it. I couldn't find the skit on YouTube or anything, so now I have joke for one and not two. Oh man, it's starting, that is I'm starting to like this city. I drove through Beverly Hills on the way to this studio and despite the ridiculous nature of my surroundings couldn't get over the weather, energy and how I drove home. Home. That word is quite elusive when you move. Don't forget to listen to the latest episode of the Trans-Atlantic Throwdown , Paddy went on an excursion of booze after it and wrote about it , check it out! Get Your Dunkin Friday - Trans-Atlantic Throwdown Episode 8

And we're back! After a two-month hiatus due to a cross-country move by Frank and various scheduling conflicts -- damn you, time zones!!! -- we bring you more rage-tastic banter on drinks and tunes. No politics this week as both Frank and Paddy are burned out on the non-movement and broken systems in which they live. Drinks and music are helping ease the pain! Frank discusses Death's Door distillery and the art of sipping -- yes, sipping -- a pint into which you've just dropped a shot of liquor or coffee. No high-fives, no pounding the Jaegerbombs. Paddy talks beer tourism in London and discovers an excellent IPA from Buxton called Axe Edge and then moves on to another one of Cooley Distillery 's revival whiskeys, Connemara Peated Single Malt -- smokey! Moving right along to music, the dudes discuss new tunes from Panda Bear , August Burns Red , Touché Amoré and Bon Iver . All this and more in episode 8 of the Trans-Atlantic (and Continental) Throwdown! Don't for...

I'm so pumped it's Friday and that the weather is gradually improving. Nothing really us to report, except all things Japan ...oh and Libya . I'm appalled that we've learned nothing from our past mistakes. Perhaps this time it will work ? I can't write about it right now, I need to read more and come back to it...needless to say I'm against more wars, you already knew that. It's here! Episode 6 of the Trans-Atlantic Throwdown . We hope you like this latest episode as it is back to the normal format and full of awesomeness. Synopsis: This is Episode 6 a.k.a. Fizzbitch a.k.a. On the political front, Paddy explains the Irish election system (ranked preferences, not binary choices) and then Frank discusses Wisconsin. Things are draining. Alas, I'm plugging along trying to get through this week. There are few things more annoying than people who don't do their job telling you how to better do your job...I will leave that at that.
