We're off to Michigan tomorrow morning. First stopping in Chicago for a night then driving to Grand Haven, MI. I'm finishing my work week, Day 6, on my feet and still rocking out. Maybe we'll remember this time to take pictures. Hold down the fort ya'll. (this soundtrack rocks so hard) I am Frank Chow and I approved this message

Moving On Up

The Mrs. and I are prepping to move. I'm hunkering down and trying to cover internet, gas, electric and etc...and etc... We move Wednesday morning and then hopefully over the next week we'll settle into our new abode. We're pretty excited for the savings. It's right up the street as well, so there's no real adjustment to environment or "getting to know our surroundings." Once we (and by we I mean my wife) figures out where everything is to be placed, I'll share pictures. This weekend was spent participating in debauchery at the USC homecoming festivities and then driving to San Diego for the day to see Poppa Frank. I'm exhausted from the trip, but it was worth it since I won't be seeing him over the holidays at all. Did I mention I love San Diego? Anyway, just wanted to stop in, say hello and give you all an update. Till next time...RAGE ON! I am Frank Chow and I approved this message

Tomorrow the lady and I are heading to Disney. We both have the day off tomorrow, so why not? I have never been to Disneyland either has she, although we have both been to Disneyworld. It should be fun and since the weather has been odd in LA recently I'm thinking the crowds might be a bit lighter...let's hope. I'm kind of exhausted, working everyday for the past ten days is a bit much. Gotta do what I gotta do though. Here are your highlights: Obama's Honeymoon Lasted Zero Days , the hated the very idea of him from day one Students loans, what's the deal? Basically the GOP sucks, shocking.  Maybe just maybe people are realizing what a lot of us have been saying for a while now, Austerity is stupid and hasn't worked Chuck Grassley support domestic violence DRAFT DAY: Well it's on RG3 now to be the man . I'm pumped, if anyone would like season tickets let me know as I live in Cali now and can't go to games. Chow!

Well the weekend is over. I'm beat. We were in the final days of a big sale, so needless to say I worked a lot and ran around a lot, and dealt with crappy customers...a lot. I did, however have a lovely day yesterday. An early breakfast at the 17th St. Cafe, picked up a case of wine and cooked for my lady, her friends, and my lil sis. I made a baked penne pasta with roasted vegetables, it turned out okay (they liked it a lot), I think next time I'll make the sauce from scratch before using something out of a jar. They always under season that stuff. As for today I'm working on comedy and voice over stuff. Here are your highlights: Trayvon Martin case becomes complicated with the ludicrous "stand your ground" law After a rough couple of years, Tiger Woods wins again Balloon Juice redesign Remembering Bert Sugar Possible hate crime in San Diego The Supreme Court hears the health care debate ...get ready to be disappointed Wal-Mart trying to move ...

Yesterday was good times. I actually had an audition where I played basketball for most of the day. Not too bad. If I get the gig, I'll be acting across a well-known basketball player (not Lin)...which would be awesome. We'll see. Everyone yesterday and I mean everyone was joking about Jeremy Lin. Linsanity! It's a great phenomena happening right now, I hope the kid makes the right choices and has a long career in the NBA. We head to Chicago tomorrow, I can't wait. It'll be nice to run around planning for our wedding and hanging out with old pals. As for today, I've got work to do! Here are your highlights: Speaking of Jeremy Lin, Is China censoring Linsanity?! Ruh roh Romney The GOP's terrible transportation bill Obama's budget of values Yup, that's it change of plans. We're having an ADVENTURE WEDDING!! Chow!

Ruining Marriage

Image
In amongst the Prop8 ruling in California, we get this about the decline of marriage rates from Paul Krugman . Krugman goes onto explain that what really may be going on here is the decline of earned income (he has a graph too). Should we really be surprised that young men, confronting the reality that they won’t earn anything near as much in real terms as their fathers did — and that they will be even further from having what society sees as an adequate income, because even Adam Smith acknowledged the importance of social norms in defining prosperity — don’t marry and raise families the way the previous generation did? So what's really ruining marriage in America, teh evil icky gay or perhaps terrible economic policies? I'd have to go with that latter. Over the years, we've had policies that have hindered men and women from committing to a relationship because they lack the "adequate income" to start and raise a family. It's a tough decision, one th...

I'm trying my best to find time to write some rage, but I've been working this week. Can't complain about work, can complain about how little I make ;) Luckily I have Super Bowl Sunday off, probably get some dim sum, hang out with fam and watch the Giants face off against the Patriots. Should be a good game no matter what...please god be a good game... Here are your highlights: With NFL Players Support, Occupy Super Bowl might just happen Komen, the odd VP behind the Planned Parenthood ridiculousness Bruce Lee as Spiderman Go figure, The Public likes Populism Patriots doing things a bit differently in preparation Mayweather v Cotto , a couple years late, but better than expected...now will people believe Bob Arum is the problem? Comedian pal Matty Ryan destroys the "Shit Chicagoans Say" video . It's not only a great read, but insightful and funny. If you're from Chicago, please take the time to read it, definitely worth it. Bearse. Chow!
