 I have tomorrow off. I'm moving. After last year, this feels like a new beginning. A chance to start fresh and establish roots. I'm starting to find more like-minded folks here. Don't get me wrong, it's like combing a dessert with a toothpick. But the few I've friended have helped get me through the mud. Not sure I'll have time to post. The passing of James Van Der Beek has me a bit heartbroken. I grew up on Dawson's Creek. Our friends would skip the cafeteria and watch VHS episodes in our drama class. The show was like a soap opera to us. We'd quote it. We'd laugh about it. And we'd anticipate each new episode. Dawson, like me, was a filmmaker, wide-eyed and naive. Later in his career, James explored his comedic chops, and it was delightful. The guy had a knack for comedic timing. On social media, he shared his journey in Texas and his growing family.  Local Democrats are fighting the good fight. I have a friend on the ground in Minneapolis, and neighbors are showing up for neighbors.  We made it to the end of the week. I'm not sure why, but this was the longest week. Being back at work, being back in the grind, the commute, for some reason, this year, this week, was a slog.  I'm a little late today. Transitioning back to work after a couple of weeks off is difficult. The holiday was lovely, and our girls enjoyed time with their grandpa.
