 I had to take off Friday blogging cuz of life stuff. This weekend we went on a hike to raise awareness for land conservation in Central Illinois. It was a fun activity, but the longest I've hiked since having my appendix removed. I'm a bit sore. I did complete it, and then the kiddos got to paint pumpkins.  The violence in the West Bank by settlers is awful . Hearing the stories. Watching the videos. It seems to me that calling them "settlers" is being too kind. They're occupying terrorists. Attacking reporters, shooting Palestinians. These are young men who seem almost groomed to cause chaos. The entitlement is truly sick. This isn't sustainable. It's inhumane.  Around six weeks since my appendix was removed. I had the great idea to go on a walk, something like two miles. Yeah, it might have been too ambitious. For whatever reason, my recovery is taking longer than I expected. I want so badly to go hiking again. It's not happening this week.  Kudos to everyone who protested this past weekend. I wasn't able to participate, but it looked like large crowds were everywhere. Our local group is working on battling data centers, improving green energy in schools, and holding school boards to their word. It's tough. What's the phrase "all politics are local"? In our small town, there are hardly any Republican signs. It's kind of comforting how embarrassed voters are of the Trump administration.  Here are your highlights:   The Omar case is MAGA's attack on citizenship .  A new axis of evil.  As folks vote this midterm, it'll be interesting to see if the GOP's attempt to rig the elections works. I don't think they're smart enough. We've already seen the National Guard at ballot drop-offs. We know about their extreme gerrymandering. However, I don't think they get how unpopular they are, especially with Trump nearing the lowest approval rating ever. South Carolina is now in play. That's a big red flag for any GOP strategist. Do I think Dems sweep like the Brewers (Boo, Dodgers)? No, but I do think the GOP should be, and is, in full panic mode. Donald Trump admitted he's been administered dementia tests again. He just said it out loud . The 25th Amendment was created for times like these, but we're not in normal times.
