I think I'm becoming a California native slowly, but surely. Last night was great. I was able to sit and listen to a panel of fellow writers who are making it in Hollywood. They fielded questions, gave advice, do and don'ts, and they all seemed down to earth. You could tell they each a unique drive about them, a "don't quit" attitude, if you will, that I feel I possess. Another  strikingly awesome aspect of the experience was seeing how many fellow AAPI's were actively seeking knowledge about the business and how to "break into television." We often complain about there not being enough roles out there for us, but the first step it seems is to write the roles we want. No better way in my opinion. This by John Cole sums it up. Regardless if you'd like to hear the legal arguments for and against the individual mandate, it's of no consequence. The Roberts' Court does what it wants, even if it contradicts what they've written in the past, said in a speech or whatever. It's about "drowning the government in the bathtub" and these scholarly asshats are more than happy to play their part, robes and all (fuck I'd bet they'd wear wigs if they could get them sewn by the little people). Obamacare, should be a welcomed change in our country. We have mediocre health care at best in America and the private insurance companies gauge us at every turn. Anything to rein in the insurance companies even a little bit, whether it's covering recent graduates or pre-existing conditions is a solid improvement. Nope, it's socialism. All right so last night started the ball rolling for my latest project. I decided after making myself a sammich to head to the local overlord of technology and picked up a headset . "What pray tell may that be for Frank?" you ask. Well my fellow ragers I can tell you it won't be for late hours of W.O.W. while guzzling cans of Mountain Dew and sobbing over missed bonus points. Mother Jones has a piece highlighting gun activists and their hopes to shoot down "Obamacare." It is the stuff that makes you wonder if the Founding Fathers knew what they were doing with the Second Amendment. I highly doubt it is how these people are portraying it. *Sigh : The accusation comes from Gun Owners of America, a 300,000 member group that proudly advertises itself with a quotation from Ron Paul: "The only no-compromise gun lobby in Washington." The GOA sits well to the right of the National Rifle Association, which it tends to dismiss as a pack of sell-outs. Yet, like the Tea Partiers who draw Republican congressional leaders to their racially tinged protests against "National Socialist Health Care," the GOA could influence the reform debate. I can understand disagreeing with Cuba and Castro, but if he still has a better way than we do of cutting costs and proving care MAYBE THAT SHOULD BE A RED FUGGIN FLAG! Professor Hill tries to make a simple statement and the two ladies of liberty shout him down for suggesting other countries have better ideas. A suggestion to Professor Hill quit wasting your time.
