As Michael Jackson has passed away and his memorial services commence , I have come to the conclusion that the Right never understood Michael Jackson or his music. When the rest of the world was embracing Michael as an amazing talent the conservative mindset was to reject him just as they did rock n roll, R & B and punk. It is this closed-mindedness that reflects how they have dealt with many issues over time. Not liking Michael Jackson as a person is one issue, but not liking or at least understanding the significance of his music is a willingness to only accept the world that is in your head. One thing I have never understood are employees who benefit from taxes being irate about taxes, federal funding and "socialized" health care. If you BENEFIT from public funding and your living is made through public funding shouldn't you support public funding for schools, social programs and health care? Do these people look at their paychecks and assume the money is from a private institution behind curtains? I guess it is only socialist when it benefits the other.
