Health Care Reform, Don't Kill It WILL It

I have had quite a bit of a back and forth over whether or not progressives trying to kill the bill is a good idea. As I stated earlier I think the best idea is to do it now, fix it later or through conference. I am sticking to the John Cole , Kevin Drum , and Steve Benen line of thought on this one. It does us no good whatsoever to walk out with nothing. The political climate of 2010 will be even more heated. Jobs are going to continue and the GOP will continue to throw temper tantrum after temper tantrum . Anyone thinking killing the bill will be triumphant in any way is in the words of John Cole, "smoking rock." I find it rather disconcerting that people don't get this. Principal and ideology aside, progressives should be aware of history and what it tells us. It tells us if some kind of health care reform, like or not, does not pass the American people are screwed. The Democrats do not pass go, they don't collect 200 dollars and any piece of legislation thereaft...

Hello world and universe. Yep I got sick after the lady got sick and so I am home sucking on Halls, watching god awful teevee and laying in bed. Well actually typing at this point, but bear with me I am under the weather and my head doesn't quite make sense. Yesterday I stayed home and in and the lady and I were together in our sickness. But we did watch "Away We Go" with John KarriwhatchafromtheOffice and Maya Rudolph. A pleasantly surprising film. So that is the one highlight I got...still sick, throat feels like it's being choked by "freedom fighters" and without further ado... Joe Lieberman Worst Kind of Senator Until The Day He Dies

In act of are you effin kidding me, you again Joe? Joe Liebersuck is back and this time he is a full on tea bagger...He is going to filibuster the Health Care Reform Bill! RAAAGGE!!!!! Politico : Several other moderate Democrats expressed skepticism at the proposal as well, but most of the wavering Democratic senators did not go as far as Lieberman Tuesday, saying they were waiting to see the details. Lieberman did say he's "strongly inclined" to vote to proceed to the debate, but that he’ll ultimately vote to block a floor vote on the bill if it isn’t changed first. "I've told Sen. Reid that if the bill stays as it is now I will vote against cloture,” he said. WHAT A SACK OF EXCRAMENT!! I wish we could just have a "knock on Lieberman's door" day then we all can just ask him on whether he likes killing American people. How does 45,000 a year dead sound, Joe? Sound good? This guy was let back into caucus for what reason!!?!! JESUS JEBUS ALLAH AND AL...

I am still at a conference, but luckily I can steal some internet here and there and RAAAAGEEEEE!!! How stupid was yesterday? An overall slow day, but I turn on the teevee and the liberally bias NBC has the "not contra-versial" Rush Limbaugh on and what happens this morning? THE SAME DAMN THING! Deja Vu? Re-run, nay it is more pandering to a loudmouth, blowhard who consistently attempts to divide everyone and their mother, but teh EnBehSee must appease their critics or else tea baggers will come a torch bearing and shotgun toting. All well what the fugg else is going on oh a big SENATE FINANCE VOTE ON HEALTH CARE REFORM . And who said change wasn't coming... Here are your highlights: Mort Zuckerman explains the Village speak Liz Cheney and Billy Kristol, the Ambiguously Right Wing foreign policy duo Douche=Harwood I would 100% eat those: Mario Brothers Bon Bons IF you have been watching Health Care has failed like three, no wait, FOUR times already according to our Cable ...

Want Quality Health Care? Move to Vermont

WASHINGTON (Reuters) The quality of healthcare Americans receive depends largely on where they live, with insurance coverage, access to preventive medicine and disease treatment varying widely from state to state, according to a study released on Thursday by the Commonwealth Foundation. "Where you live matters," said the foundation's Vice President Cathy Schoen, who co-authored the study for the private research group, in a conference call with reporters. "And it shouldn't." The report found that all of the states that have made healthcare reforms provide better access to medical treatment and prevention and mostly avoid costly hospital procedures. Residents of Vermont have the best healthcare in the country, the foundation said. The small northern state, which embarked on a radical plan to provide all citizens with healthcare less than a decade ago, also leads the nation in "equity," or making sure that people of lower income groups have healthcar...

"We Will Get a Public Option"

Protect Insurance Companies PSA from Will Ferrell Thank Jebus for Hump Day! I had Monday off and I still want the heck out of this week. Everyone is posting this video, but more should and that is why I share it with you. Here are comedians and actors putting all the NO of the Republican party to waste in two minutes. It is amazing how comedy can really point out how silly our political discourse has gotten these past months. Comedians do have the ability to tell it like it is and our forum is quite larger than the Right would like to give credit to...John Stewart ring a bell? The public option is far from being dead. GOP Response, You and Your Doctor the Same Old Scare Tactic

Image
Greg Sargent at the Plum Line is reporting that the GOP is tailoring their response to President Barack Obama’s speech. Their new and fresh idea is that health care reform will be getting in the way of you and your doctor. Sargent states: So after Obama’s big speech, a Republican doctor will come on the air and say that Dems refused to join Republicans in a bipartisan search for a health care solution — and warn that Obama’s reform plans will put bureaucrats between you and your doctor. Hey, that line has been working for reform opponents since the 1960s, so why shift gears now? And that is true. Reagan was the actor in charge of pushing the exact same message and that message is refuted simply. We already have someone clearly in the way of you and your doctor. In our current health care set up that someone comes in the form of insurance and pharmaceutical companies. I know I know, to those in the “know” I am beating a dead horse, but alas by the polls a lot of people are confused so ...
