The season has begun and this one feels more like a Cubs season. I don't have any high expectations nor am I waiting for every word to come out of the managers mouth. In fact I can't even recall the last time I heard the Cubs' manager speak. I think that's fine because that's how being a Cubs fan really goes (for me at least and no I'm not fairweather, I'll still follow the Cubs and see plenty games). What a lovely weekend! The lady's folks came into town and we hung out with them pretty much the whole time including a trip to Cafe Bar Bar Reeba and Harry Caray's. Nom nom nom. Bar bar was fantastic as we tried out new dishes, downed Sangria and laughed while introducing her parents to Spanish tapas. It was hilarious to hear her mom react to specific dishes "Oh no I don't like that" and it was great to see how much they got into the entire experience. We will definitely be going again. Other than that on Sunday we were able to get up early and get in our grocery shopping. We have become pros at Trader Joe's making the trip quite enjoyable. The proposed sign would be 74 feet above the ground, altering the look of the team's historic stadium. Because Wrigley Field is designated a landmark, new signage has to receive governmental approval. The Sun-Times first reported that the Cubs have filed a permit application with the city. While the city has approved signage on the outfield walls and on the brick wall down the third base line, the proposed billboard is "definitely new territory," said Ald. Tom Tunney (44th ward), who oversees the ward where Wrigley Field is located. The height of the signage will be a concern, he said.
