It's been a week since I last posted and lot has happened. First I didn't even realize, but work had me scheduled for seven days in a row. I got home and went back to work. Awesome. Then on Wednesday I received a phone call from my agent...I booked a commercial. I had auditioned for an internet spot before I left for Milwaukee and when I got back to LA I found out I had a callback. I didn't think much of it because the script was dialogue heavy and as much as I rehearsed, I felt I might have been a bit too young for the part. The callback, however went great, they had me do the script a couple of times, I was able to improv, and people laughed (always a good sign). Well wouldn't you know the very next day I got the call (there may or may not have been some celebratory high-fiving and drinking). The past week has been surreal and a blur. Between working every day up to the shoot, to the fitting, to the shoot day and being on set; I'm exhausted, I'm excited, I...

I'm working evenings the next two days and running around like a chicken with my head cut off. I guess it's nice to be busy instead of not so busy...although I really want to catch up and watch seasons 3 & 4 of Breaking Bad. Damn that show is awesome. The acting, writing, production, the story; it's all phenomenal. Well done indeed. Well I got a call late Friday night and now I'm in a play that goes up next weekend! Crazy. I had my first rehearsal on Saturday, today we start tech week and umm I have four days to learn my lines. Luckily I'm not a lead, but a supporting role. It's an exciting task, but I'll be away from this thing some more. Gotta do what I gotta do. I've got to admit, I watched TRON: Legacy last night and loved it. In fact I might watch it again today. It's not groundbreaking, it's not even witty or super cool, it's that they didn't entirely destroy my childhood and in fact complimented it well. These days in Hollywood that's rare and I appreciate that. In other news I'm working a double today. I start my other part-time job today and then head off to the food truck. I'll be beat, but I need the money! Who doesn't?! The lady and I finally have our engagement pictures and can't wait to share them. I'm exhausted from filming yesterday. Due to some traffic issues one of the actors was a couple of hours late. We didn't wrap till 1:30am. So it was a long day, apologies for sleeping in...okay not really. It's always interesting after I'm done filming because I want to get right back in there and do it again. I always think of something new or want to just one more take to make it perfect. Alas, that's not how it works. It was a fun time, I spit, I fake vomited, I stuck my hand in a vile...I'll spare the details...I'm glad I had the opportunity. I should have final footage by December and hopefully sooner. Yesterday was a good day. I met with some people who can potentially help me really get going in my acting career. It was a nice sit down, maybe 15 minutes, but enough time to get a feel and understanding of how much work I need to put in. I'm ready that's for sure. These past weeks I've been getting back into shape, kicking my butt and rehearsing. It's crazy, we moved here two months ago and despite the struggles of getting acclimated in a new town, the stress of unemployment and being the "new kids"; it's been moving a long at a pace both my lady and I welcome. It helps that we have each other. Her career is booming. Mine is just getting started. And we have some of the best weather on the planet. My sister started classes yesterday, so she's back in LA and tonight we're checking out an old friend do stand-up. I would say the last couple of weeks have been pretty good. I was just watching Secrets of the Dead: Terracotta Warriors through Netflix when I noticed in the intro it said "actor Liev Schreiber ". I kept listening and it took me awhile to hear the voice I'm used to, the treble tone was missing. Then it dawned on me, he's also the narrator to the great series on HBO, 24/7 . It isn't often when an actor's work astonishes me and in this case the body of work narration wise that Liev Schreiber has accomplished is phenomenal. The tone, the intonation, it truly is the craft of narration at its best. And I don't even particularly like the guy. It is work like Schreiber's that challenges me everyday. I caught this on the wire and thought I'd pass it along: A upcoming film called The Potential Wives of Norman Mao written and directed by Derek Nguyen it's a short comedy in which George Takei (SULU!) is the Executive Producer and Narrator. They have an all Asian American cast including Ed Lin, Tina Chen, Ron Nakahara, Cindy Cheung, and Michelle Ang. It looks to be a quirky and funny short with a stellar cast.
