 I've been under the weather, and by under the weather, I mean depressed. Mental health days are necessary. I took two. I'm still struggling, but I made it to today. Sometimes this world just beats you down. We did, however, have a successful No Kings protest in our small town. It felt like hundreds were participating. We had laughs, shared common interests, and then enjoyed a local Speakeasy that night. The passing of James Van Der Beek has me a bit heartbroken. I grew up on Dawson's Creek. Our friends would skip the cafeteria and watch VHS episodes in our drama class. The show was like a soap opera to us. We'd quote it. We'd laugh about it. And we'd anticipate each new episode. Dawson, like me, was a filmmaker, wide-eyed and naive.
