Hooah! It is a new day and more rage is a bubbling. Above is a video you must see. Rep. Alan Grayson in 2 and half minutes sums up why negotiating with the Republicans on health care any longer is a joke. Yes you might have a beer with the guy across the aisle, even go golfing, but one thing is for sure it doesn't change their motto "they want you to fail." Kudos for Grayson for telling it like it is, after the stupid logic of Max Fuggus, it is time to really push the public option. Again, THAT IS THE COMPROMISE. On another note this morning started off just lovely with the lady and I getting side swiped on our way to work. Brilliant drivers in Chicago, so needless to say my rage is LIKE OFF THE CHARTS PEOPLE!

Blue Dogs Just Don't Care About Health Care

I said this before and I will say it again, they just don't care.

Via Huff Post:

A coalition of Republicans and Democrats on the Senate Finance Committee joined together Tuesday to defeat a public health insurance option.
Five Democrats joined with all the Republicans on the committee to reject an amendment by Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.) in a 15-8 vote.
Three Democrats then joined the Republicans to defeat a second public-option proposal. By a vote of 13-10, the committee rejected an amendment by Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.).

WHAT ARE THEY THERE FOR? What part of cost efficient and better for the American people don't they understand? And all this time wasted with Max "Insurance Cash" Baucus doing what's best with the Gang of Six, the fugger didn't even try. Didn't vote on principal, he says "we won't get the votes on the floor."

Senator Baucus voted against both the Rockefeller and the Schumer amendments because, he said, the public option doesn't have the votes to pass the Senate.

First, echoing Beutler, does he mean to suggest that he's never voted for a bill in committee that didn't have a chance of passing on the floor? Max Baucus is psychic!

Second, this Baucus prediction isn't necessarily true. Healthcare reform with the public option can pass with 50-plus-Biden. Breaking the filibuster prior to that vote needs 60. And does Baucus seriously believe there are Democrats who are willing to filibuster with the crazy Republicans and against the first healthcare reform bill in a generation? I don't think so.

And finally, the fact remains that a final, post-conference bill won't pass the House without the public option. At least not currently.

So if Baucus was really interested in passing a bill and getting it to the president's desk, he should've voted for the public option amendments today.

The upshot is that we all know the real reason why Baucus voted the way he did. His corporate bosses paid him to vote 'no'.

This is plain as day. You can drag people sick, tired, dying and suffering and he would ask them to go through a committee, an extension of hearing and at least 1 Republican hand job before giving these people care! Health CARE!

But as Bob said, this isn't over, there are many ways the Public Option survives and gets stronger. Breaking the filibuster is merely the first step and then into reconciliation....where talks might get tough, but we are talking about the general welfare. There is still hope, but can we just go head and say it, the Blue Dogs and Republicans never really gave a damn in the first place. Especially Max Fakeus.

I can't stress this enough, there is a reason John Stewart and the Daily Show team are the most trusted in media. They call it like it is and not to mention they do have a thorough archive of proof of the stupidity. I actually had an argument last week about the kid's video over Twitter and it was like talking to a wall. Needless to say John Stewart sums it up better than I can in 140 characters. Yesterday was rough, but thank god I have family coming into to town for a couple of days. How Protests Are Done, Unite-Here in Chicago

Progress Illinois:

Nearly a month after their multi-year contract expired and with no agreement in sight, 6,000 Chicago-based hotel workers represented by UNITE-HERE Local 1 decided yesterday it was time to raise their profile. In a dramatic and peaceful act of protest, 22nd Ward Ald. Ric Munoz (chief sponsor of the city's pending right-to-know notification law), union advocates, and roughly 200 hospitality workers blocked traffic near the Magnificent Mile at the height of rush hour to protest proposed wage and health coverage cuts. Another 700 workers and supporters cheered on as police slowly escorted the sit-in participants to police buses for processing. (Those arrested face minimum fines of $90 for failure to exercise due care by sitting in a roadway.

While the location -- in front of the Park Hyatt, just steps from the Old Water Tower -- succeeded in attracting significant media attention, that was not the only motivating factor. Hyatt Regency is perhaps the largest and most influential hotel operator in Chicago; how they treat their employees effects chains across the city. They laid off 19.5 percent of their workforce between November 2008 and March 2009 and forced the remaining staff to work overtime to cover the lost hours, as employee Francine Jones explained earlier this month. Now, UNITE-HERE officials say Hyatt is requiring that employees work 120 hours a month in order to qualify for health insurance, which would disqualify almost half of their workers

This is the good that protesting and UNIONS can do. AND THIS IS HOW IT IS DONE. UNITE-HERE is simply asking for what most working individuals take for granted or have access to. Fair wages, 40 hour works weeks and health benefits. These employees don't have a choice, not another option and their families are greatly effected by greedy corporate heads reckless decisions.

And this leads me to point out something very wrong in our current health care debate, not enough people are covering how difficult it is to get quality care in the first place. No wonder 65% when polled approved the public option. You have to protest and negoiate for health care in America.

Michael Moore Calls Out ABC on ABC

From Huffington Post:

Michael Moore called out ABC on "Good Morning America" Wednesday for employing "permalancers," permanent freelancers who are effectively full-time employees but hired on a contract basis, and thus not extended any benefits.
"I'm talking to employees, people backstage here, they don't get to be real employees here because they don't get the benefits, so they're freelancers," Moore told Chris Cuomo.
"And I said 'Guy, I was here two years ago and you were a freelancer' — right backstage here at ABC — he said, 'We call ourselves permalancers now. They don't get to share in just the basic benefits that an employee used to have who worked here. What's wrong with that? What is wrong with just giving people basic things for their hard work?"

I know that Michael Moore is a villain and evil leftist to the Right and even some in the middle, but having known family in the industry this was great to see. ABC has had a long battle with Unions and when Disney took over it became ugly, virulent and unethical at times. Mickey Mouse isn't as nice as he seems. The villanizing of American Unions by the Right has been quite a shame and what is even worse is the mainstream media (ABC is not the only one with contract problems) perpetuating such a standard. We should be thanking Unions for 40 hrs work weeks, pension plans and numerous other benefits. ABC has had layoffs, cutbacks, slashed salaries and overtime decimated. Michael Moore in one brief moment stood up for working Americans and families more than the Right and the Republican Party has ever done (Employee Free Choice Act, Mininum wage debate, smearing of Unions), hate him all you want, but he gets a FRANK APPROVED.

The Ferner Tour starring Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin

Because nothing says "we care about brown and yellow people" like starting an outreach program and giving a speech on socialist soil!

Random Brown Guy Interviewee: Thanks so much Newt now I know what real Americano is about, I just have to speak perfect English, lighten my skin and go accept a great minimum wage without health care!

Random Yellow Guy Interviewee: Thanks so much Sarah us Chinese love your humor and hatred for the black President. You have so much to teach us about business and ferner policy and missiles from Russia. By the way thanks doubly for patting all us "short guys" on the head, we just love your affection.

It is this disingenuous slop that turns off minority voters from the dying cesspool known as the Republican Party. Two fire breathing wing nuts completely incensed and driven by an underlining entitlement to everything. They are infamous for spreading lies, rumors and constantly distorting facts while never "cow-towing" to the minority voter. BUT NOWW!!! OHH NOWW!!! Who ever called anyone a terrorist? Who ever called anyone illegal aliens? Who ever played the border games? Who ever warned about selling our children's future to China?

Newt Gingrich champion anti-immigration, heck let's just says it, hater of all things color, now wants to reach out to the group he has been systematically trying to push out of the country for years. Newt has come up with "Americano", America...what? Add an "o" at the end and sure we can all just forget.

Gingrich Communications has launched The Americano, a bilingual political news site aimed at Latinos that "will seek to make a profit from advertising." It is being run by Sylvia Garcia, his director of Hispanic outreach. To repeat: It is bilingual. You can choose to get your news in English or in Spanish, a choice that Newt Gingrich—the man whose company is launching this web site—believes is corrosive to our culture:

"Allowing bilingualism to continue to grow is very dangerous," Gingrich said in Atlanta. "We should insist on English as a common language. . . . That's what binds us together."

That's from 1995, when Gingrich was defending his massive cuts to bilingual education and support for English-only legislation. As recently as 2007, he repeated the sentiment, saying Spanish people should stop speaking the "language of living in the ghetto," i.e., Spanish, the language of The Americano, of which he is the publisher.

In fact, according to the site's "principles," the editors of The Americano "will..renew our commitment to American values, language and history as the prerequisite for U.S. citizenship." You can read that in Spanish here. So it's basically a web site for illegal immigrants. To yell at them

Followed by the ever enlightening zealot..excuse me I mean patriot, the Moose Hunter's Wife, Sarah Palin. A woman so wise as to march in CHINA to say these very words as if they are without irony, "We're not interested in government fixes, we're interested in freedom." Psstt. Sarah, Hong Kong is a territory of the People Republic of China, despite its "one country, two systems" mantra, they aren't really whispering freedom all nilly willy like. Oh and don't tell them that whole you can see Russia from your backyard in Alaska thing...AND WHAT IS SHE DOING TALKING ABOUT FINANCES? Didn't we learn from the election process how unqualified she is to complete a sentence, let alone address economic and financial policies. I am sorry no amount of winking can help Miss Caribou get out of her wildly stupid assement saying the government can't fix things ( a lack of government regulation lead to the financial collapse) and Obama is to blame. Psst. He isn't a terrorist SARAH!

So America you do have one thing to look forward to the "Ferner Tour" where Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich travel the Earth with their fellow wing nuts to assimilate the "Ferners." Good luck with that.

Nemesis Take Down - Racial Profiling Bad Policy

Michelle Malkin still trying to hock here failed book about "fearing the brown people" is in a fuss about 9/10 (without one mention of who was in office). Yes she thinks we are back to scary days when racial profiling was consider bad practices.

A. Sewer administers the take down:'s impossible to get good human intelligence if people see you as the enemy. Were the government to adopt a policy of racial profiling as Malkin suggests, it would alienate the population we're depending on to feed us information about potential attacks. Also, if you're worrying about ethnicity rather than evidence, you're going to waste a lot of resources chasing innocent people.

So not only is racial profiling morally reprehensible, it's also just a bad policy. Unless of course, you see all Muslims as the enemy and you want to punish them for simply existing.

At any rate, what's with conservatives using potential terrorist attacks to argue for their own terrible policy ideas? There's something amusing going on here: since Obama is president, conservatives can't take credit for successful arrests, and the success itself makes it harder for them to argue that Obama's national security policies are putting Americans at risk.

Ohhhh smack down, pew pew action. Malkin shoots and the shot is DENIED! It is always nice to know there are others out there readily handing Malkin a bit of a reality check, but also her undeniably weak and broken arguments for IRRATIONAL FEAR. Sorry on this one, no faux expose piece will get your soul back.

And Sewer makes an observation I too have made before on this blog. It drives the Right completely nuts that Obama is a) having successes with his policies and strategy in foreign and domestic anti-terrorism and b) it has nothing whatsoever to do with them.

Well helloooo America! I was off yesterday to perform in an awesome read through of a play last night. It was truly exciting and an amazing experience. More to come on that as I am certain the play is to go in full effect next year (cross fingers). What did I miss? Anybody? The President was on Letterman and apparently funny, yet if you read this morning's slab, he WAS THE ANTI-CHRIST! I love opening up my local slab that plays itself off as a paper and then gives audience to right wing memes like "he doesn't want to answer HARD questions", "Obama is desperate," and something aching to to "Obama is struggling to get majority support." When 72% became not a majority I don't know, but the local slab thinks it is a heck of a critique. And some wonder why health care reform has taken so long to get done in America...

Stay Classy Hollywood, Asian Hating Alert

Dude I am so Angry I am being played by some kid from Disney RAAGE!

So us Asians have good ideas, cool characters, and nice stories that are better translated to the main stream with white actors?

Angry Asian Man caught this gem:

white guy stars as asian comic book hero
More white people playing Asians! Hey, it's the Hollywood way. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the very Caucasian star of the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place, will star in The Weapon, based on the Platinum Studios comic series: 'Waverly' star joins 'Weapon' adaptation.
David Henrie will star as martial arts enthusiast and inventor Tommy Zhou, "who has developed a ground-breaking portable innovation that an evil order will stop at nothing to steal." Evil orders tend to do that.
I am not familiar with The Weapon, but from what I've read about it, Tommy Zhou is indeed an Asian character. David Henrie, who I had never even heard of before reading this news item, is not an Asian person. Hooray for Hollywood, you've done it again. That's racist!
No matter -- young Mr. Henrie is just excited that "[his] Disney audience will enjoy the empowerment and action-filled journey [his] character experiences." Yes, perhaps even enough to look the other way when they find out that Tommy Zhou is supposed to be Chinese American.
Hey, how about empowering a young Chinese American actor instead? Ha hahahahaha. I know, I'm sorry. That's practically unthinkable. Hollywood, casting actual Asians as Asian heroes? No way. That's just silly.

It is not only silly and racist, but stupid. Why don't they just call it something else? Does Hollywood really think those who loved the original can just forget a KEY CHARACTER ELEMENT. This white washing of stories is a Hollywood constant, after the Last Airbender scam, it is not a surprise, but still I AM GOING TO BREAK MY DESK PEOPLE! The only thing that would piss me off more is if they casted Clint Eastwood randomly just so he can save more dirty fergners from themselves. Hollywood for all its self-agrandizing has a long history from Dr. Fu Manchu, to Breakfast at Tiffany's to the Bond films and maybe a new...Red Dawn is all about the Asian villain and not the Asian hero, (unless of course it is a martial arts movie played off as a Hollywood "backed movie) it is just good old racism.

With any luck Akira is the next movie to be destroyed, stripped of its original plot, story and characters for a Leonardo Di Caprio cheesefest. And after it all the producers and directors will say the original we all remember is somehow intact. Thanks for nothing Hollywood and please JUST CALL THESE MOVIES SOMETHING ELSE!!!

Insurance Companies What Are They Good For?

From the Huff Post:

With the White House zeroing in on the insurance-industry practice of discriminating against clients based on pre-existing conditions, administration allies are calling attention to how broadly insurers interpret the term to maximize profits.

It turns out that in eight states, plus the District of Columbia, getting beaten up by your spouse is a pre-existing condition.

Under the cold logic of the insurance industry, it makes perfect sense: If you are in a marriage with someone who has beaten you in the past, you're more likely to get beaten again than the average person and are therefore more expensive to insure.

In human terms, it's a second punishment for a victim of domestic violence.

In 2006, Democrats tried to end the practice. An amendment introduced by Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), now a member of leadership, split the Health Education Labor & Pensions Committee 10-10. The tie meant that the measure failed.

All ten no votes were Republicans, including Sen. Mike Enzi (R-Wyoming), a member of the "Gang of Six" on the Finance Committee who are hashing out a bipartisan bill. A spokesman for Enzi didn't immediately return a call from Huffington Post.

This should be front page news everwhere, not only for the immoral behavior, but the scum cash guzzling vampire abomination that is our status quo. What kind of company, NAY what kind of person would validate such a policy? Yet we still have mind numbling stupid Senators like Mary Landrieu who drop this tidbit of knowledge on the Morning Talking Heads:

STEPHANOPOULOS: So what's the problem with the public health option?

LANDRIEU: Well, many of us believe, George, that it will undermine the private insurance system.

OHHHH by underminining you mean, stopping the private insurance fucktards with their inflated salaries to continue to deny coverage to women with the pre-existing condition of being Chris Brown'd. Ohhhh by undermining you mean stopping the private insurance douchenuggets from inflating rates and premiums till every middle class American goes flat broke. Ohhh by undermining you mean stopping the private insurance c-words (I won't write that one, but boy do I mean it) from monopolizing a basic human right to healthcare.

There is no reason for me to own a desk anymore. Sen. Landrieu and "pre-existing" conditions just got me to chuck it out of a 10 story building.

The gloves have been off since last week, but now the gloves are coming doubly off of offness officity. Don't get it? Max Douchus is readying to unleash his floppy and flacid finance committee bill and then it is moving time. Frank will be staying up in the wee late hours to make art that best describes the bill (most likely a big pile of poop.) Other than that Mike Vick is one week closer to starting for the Eagles, the Bears are not as screwed as people think and new Death Cab for Cutie song.

Here are your highlights:

The Economic Recovery will not be televised as much as some might think

Glenn Beck gets Mythbusted

Animals fighting with Lightsabers, I will start my own renditions stat

Annie Le remembered and the case is getting close to an interesting conclusion, it was an inside job

Obama does not want to keep America safe from terrorists....except he actually does and IS DOING THE JOB BUSH NEVER DID

The "Old South" argument is a sad state of affairs, Rep. Steve King defends Rep. Joe Wilson and his love for all things Confederacy, surprisingly no heads exploded when they mentioned the Confederacy without mentioning the South seceded and were treasonous. God I love "real patriots"

The Unauthorized Teabagger Tour

I am speechless and befuddled by the amount of stupid that occurred over the weekend. (h/t to the Humanity Critic)

Get Your Dunkin Monday

It was a wild and crazy weekend in sports and politics. Overall I was relaxed and enjoyed a nice time doing basic things I normally don't get to do, like hanging out with the lady and watching football. Alas others had a little crazier weekend covered in freedom flags and holding signs more disgusting than their discourse. I am talking about the right wing extremists known as the Tea Baggers *eliminationists. I caught some of the slop on CSPAN, but they never panned out to show the entire "two million" that attended. I am from DC and I know what a crowd looks like there when it reaches "two million" NOT EVEN CLOSE! Amongst all the fail there was one brave man who with the help from local socialist police force members made a quiet yet poignant statement, had those cops not been there I am sure he would have been eaten alive. God Bless America and thank Jebus we have a President who is now realizing, these teabaggers want nothing to do with anything remotely involving helping the sick.

Here are your highlights:

Sam Yoon for Mayor in Boston regardless if he wins or not he has a bright future in politics

Darth Cheney gets PWN'D by former Marines, his advocay for torture is irresponsible

Bears fan get dealt a crushing blow, Brian Urlacher out for the season

Speaking of Chicago, Blago's adviser Christopher Kelly died over the weekend of an overdose, just before he was to serve a prison sentence

Kanye West, douche of douchiness, LOL Lady Gaga, seriously it was like she went through every piece of Andrew Lloyd memorabilia she owned and attached it to a curtain used in the background of a Madonna video....

The Right is never Right and if you want to read an brutal and epic essay on our country's demise politically after 9/11 look no further

We Surround Them - 9/12 Project of Wingnuttia

Via Media Matters:

Today, on the eighth anniversary of 9-11, one day before Glenn Beck's "9-12 Project" descends on Washington, Media Matters for America calls attention to what has become a familiar, disturbing pattern on the purportedly "fair and balanced" news network.
Fox News now routinely engages in political advocacy against the Obama administration and the Democratic Congress, and Beck's promotion of a September 12 march on Washington is the latest example. Network executives have made little effort to hide Fox News' agenda, with one referring to the network as the "voice of opposition."

"There is little difference between being the 'voice of opposition' and just being the opposition," said Eric Burns, president of Media Matters. "Since the president's election, Fox News has become nothing more than the 24/7 media wing of the Republican Party. No political party in American history has had such an enormous megaphone."

The 9-12 Project starts tomorrow (insert creepy music here). This is foolish and Faux News should be ashamed of themselves (but if not before why now). When I said we will never forget, I didn't mean go ahead and have a rally of nut jobs and tea baggers. I didn't mean it would be okay to further the paranoid "fear the brown people" mantra of the Glenn Beck either. I didn't mean use 9/11 to try to Wingnut America and abuse the memories of the vicitims and families

We should protest the protest by the protesting douche nuggets. Heck we should form a big middle finger around the Washington Monument. I can't believe I am even talking about a bunch of 9-11 dot com, brand the USA, Joe Wilson loving morons. That what this is ABSOLUTELY MORONIC. They are marching on Washington because WE ARE A DEMOCRACY?! BECAUSE IT IS NOT 1860's?!! BECAUSE THERE IS A BLACK PRESIDENT?!! WHAT WHAT WHAT THE EFF IS IT? Cuz to be honest this is the most nonsensical piece of crap protest ever (of course you can expect nothing less from Beck) If I had a desk left after all my raging awesomeness, the shit would be stained with my own spit and broken into tinier pieces than the pieces that are already tiny from my previous FAUX NEWS RAGGGEEE would be tinier until so tiny only atoms remained.

Chalk this up to a baby in diapers crying and pooping their pants and ole Daddy Fox News coddling them and then letting them air it on teevee for 24 hours.

Glenn Beck is a clear example of man's descendance from monkeys.

There will be a lot of different tributes today as we all remember Sept 11th. Many will show videos of the actual tragic events or do personal accounts, yet I am not sure anyone knows what it all means anymore. I have posted this song before with simply an acoustic version, Thrice is simply amazing in this performance and they accomplish what I always try to do myself when I write songs. It makes me think of the past eight years and wonder what are we doing? The White House is asking for a day of service while others want us to remember only the evil. I have been rather adamant that I feel we should move forward and that using 9/11 as a product has been to our detrimant, regardless we will never forget. And most likely we will always be divided on how to remember.

Here are you highlights:

Then and Now with Goofus and Gallant, Tom Tomorrow might be the best there is...

If you recall the Republic Windows sit in then this CEO is real EVIL

Dems Heckling Bush much different the Joe KKKarolina Wilson

Are you ready for some Redskins Football?

Get Your Dunkin Thursday

Last night was great on many levels. I was treated to a wonderful dinner by my lady and then we watched the President give an impressive speech that had both of us moved. It was nice to sit down and witness history together. I was to be honest rather surprised at how upfront and honest Obama was toward the GOP misinformation campaign. The overall reaction out there is that the speech was received well. For us progressive/liberal/commie/pinko scum that is a good thing. It is important that the President offered an explanation of the public option, "it won't hurt you we swear, you idiots" would have been better in my opinion, but that is why he is an eloquent speaker and I am a raging blogger. The next couple of weeks will be interesting to watch...just glad the President finally called the asshats out.

Here are your highlights:

Justice Sonia Sotomayor gets in the mix right away and good for her

Buying Economics, the Fed reared its ugly head

Simply stunning and beatiful black and white photography

One thing if you got the watch the speech was the squirming and unruly behavior of the Republicans, with Rep. Joe Wilson (SC) taking douchebag of the night honor awards. I know the President is supposed to say he wants to speak with reasonable people, but the GOP for years and years have done their best to destroy facts and reason. It is clear the adults in the room weren't the ones waving fake bill proposals and shouting their hatred for illegal immigrants.
