Dealergate Oooohhhh Dealergate

When you are from Planet Winguttia you have an uncanny ability to cook up random nonsense and then with a whim of unapologetic word vomit you let it loose on America. You fill the airwaves with catch phrases and scream that they the Gubbament is out to get you. With a vile, incessant tone you vomit and vomit again like a disgusting ritualistic fraternity machismo fest only to then high-five one another after appearances on the teevee for sticking it to the Left. The playbook calls on you to bastardize words like freedom, liberty, and justice. Put it on lunchboxes, slap it on kids backpacks and sell it sell it, sell it. It's the Winguttia way. Because on your planet words like corruption only apply to those you hate and hate you do. Consistently with such an odoriferous stank that it muffles the sense of your own hypocrisy. In the words of a G-Dub aide,

'We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.'' h/t Orcinus

The words of Winguttia.

It is thus no surprise that something like Chrysler's bankruptcy and the closing of dealerships that purveyors of Winguttia do not pause to reflect on family businesses, the factory workers and engineers who might lose their jobs, but a conjured up laughable conspiracy called "Dealergate." Instead of offering new solutions or possible assistance to the many jobless in America, the focus is how Republican car dealers were victim to an intricate Leftist agenda fueled by Pal Around Terrorist Barack Hussy Lefty Socially Corrupty Magicy Obama. This is Winguttia "journalism" and the bowels of logic. Digging and keep digging to connect Obama, the Left and the cup of Christ...or something. And who above all to blame but the Mainstream Media! The other proprietor of evil within the Left and the liberal biased such as and then some in my country, what have you. Chris Matthews single-handedly defeated any proof of a MSM liberal connection.

Winguttia meet your arch enemy facts.

Nate Silver at FiveThirtyEight:

Overall, 88 percent of the contributions from car dealers went to Republican candidates and just 12 percent to Democratic candidates. By comparison, the list of dealers on Doug Ross's list (which I haven't vetted, but I assume is fine) gave 92 percent of their money to Republicans -- not really a significant difference.

There's no conspiracy here, folks -- just some bad math.

It shouldn't be any surprise, by the way, that car dealers tend to vote -- and donate -- Republican. They are usually male, they are usually older (you don't own an auto dealership in your 20s), and they have obvious reasons to be pro-business, pro-tax cut, anti-green energy and anti-labor. Car dealerships need quite a bit of space and will tend to be located in suburban or rural areas. I can't think of too many other occupations that are more natural fits for the Republican Party. Unfortunately, while we are still a nation of drivers, we are not a nation of dealers.

Get Your Dunkin' Asian Edition

I was going to save this post for tomorrow, but according to work I have to attend a conference all day tomorrow downtown with no internet. It is communist. RAGE. Nevertheless here are your highlights!

May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and so I would like to dedicate this Dunkin' to all blogs Asian. A little Wiki action for ya:

Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM) is celebrated in May to commemorate the contributions of people of Asian and Pacific Islander descent in the United States. Congress passed a joint Congressional Resolution in 1978 to commemorate Asian American Heritage Week during the first week of May. This date was chosen because two important anniversaries occurred during this time: the arrival of the first Japanese immigrants in America on May 7, 1843 and the completion of the transcontinental railroad (by many Chinese laborers) on May 10, 1869. In 1990 Congress voted to expand it from a week to a month long celebration and in May 1992, the month of May was permanently designated as “Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month.”[1]

Here are your highlights:

Alpha Asian- centers on a community of contributors set out to promote all things Asian with a positive vibe. Their three criteria are as follows:
1) Showcase Asians or Asian Americans 2) Be insightful, entertaining and/or humorous 3) Be positive overall
It is a great mantra that enables the Asian blogger community to highlight hilarity, creativity and intellect.

Asian American Movement- a partner to the e-zine based out of Boston, MA their main purpose is to network Asian American activists in different geographies, across generations, and with differing viewpoints in order to build Asian American activism. I can't argue with that. The AAM blog offers in depth commentary from a fresh prospective on progressive issues. It is important to give mediums for the Asian American opinion in the political world and movements like these are how progressive ideas grow.

Nikkei View- Gil Asakawa's is an Asian American, author of "Being Japanese American", comments on all things political and pop culture. He is an active member in the Denver community and ads a pleasantry to his commentary that makes for great reads. Plus he normally knows things before you do and that makes him "in the know."

the Minority Militant
- As you all know, I love RAGE. Unbridled and uncensored and of course with logic. Although I don't always agree with the MM, he lays down a scathing commentary that is great to read. It is all things Asian and comes from a unique background that you have to respect and appreciate. He also gets major points for this bust up of Asian self-haters.

DISGRASIAN
- You're a disgrace. To the race. When two women of higher intellect and humor get together, we are blessed with DISGRASIAN. Featured practically everywhere including the Huff Post, These women set the bar for pop culture and Asians in the news with a witty discourse that always has me coming back. Someone please give their own mainstream talk show already!

Angry Asian Man- The man on all things RAGE and Asian-American in the news. He has a loyal following. He is always offering fresh new positive Asian-American news. He is always calling out the racism in America with his THAT'S RACIST tag line. And he offers insight into a growing trend in Asian-American culture. WE ARE NOT YOUR STEREOTYPE. On a personal level this site for me is great outlet for the positive growth and outreach of Asian-Americans in the arts. Whether it is music, media and artwork, Angry Asian Man is normally first. Here is an insight article to the man behind the curtain at the Washington Post.

APA for Progress -Asian Pacific American for Progress. What can I say? It's the real deal. They endorsed Barack Obama in 2007 and most recently Judy Chu of California. A fresh and new organization hitting the ground running.

I hope you add these to your blogroll, feed or bookmarks. To all of you out there thank you for supporting the Asian-American community. Your blogs are

Late Night Music with Frank- the Color Fred

I always get a little laugh from the "Most Played" section in my Itunes. It is a surprise to see where I was at in certain periods of my life. Luckily I do come across a tune every now and again that is still played non-stop in my car and headphones. "Hate to see you Go" by the Color Fred happens to one of them.

I was never really sold on the longevity of Fred Mascherino joining Taking Back Sunday. Something just didn't sit right with Fred's approach to music and the TBS's appreciation for making music to mosh and cry. It was for lack of a better word "off" and although I did like the release they put out it seemed Fred was held back.

On his first venture into a solo career he proved me right. This album had its moment of pure pop and outright rocking which combines two of my favorite aspects of the scene. The ability to find melody not only in the instruments, but the vocal themes play right into the listener's ear. Fred currently has an acoustic cd out where he showcases his lighter side. It is an independent record store only release, so indie...

North Korea and the Nukes

It pains me to say this, but the first phrase that popped in my mind after hearing North Korea was testing their nuclear capabilities was "I learned from watching you Dad." The old and terrible anti-drug commercial from the 1980's that we all remember now comically with a son's reply to a pot smoking father. I wouldn't necessarily liken America to a pot smoking father rather we are more like the recovering pimp/ crack dealer attempting to tell his kids not to do drugs.

The quest for nuclear proliferation has long been sought by nations across the globe. It was a sign of sophistication and a power play; however America remains to this day the only nation to use nuclear weapons. And we cannot forget that.

Yesterday and today's headlines persist with a consensus of condemnation of such actions and rightfully so. It is a modern era. Today's world has learned from the choice America made in WWII and the aftermath thereafter. It has led to a long and tenuous relationship with the Japanese for many years. But some argue an administrative blow should be levied by Obama and it is clearly misguided rhetoric that lacks historical competency.

The outright defiance by North Korea should though come as of no surprise. They are above all an Asian nation. They are closer to the reality of the nuclear weapon its capability, its lasting effect and its symbolic fortitude. To ask for North Korea to simply lie down with heat from the United Nations is rather simplistic. It is important to understand not only foreign relations, but also the country and the culture of North Korea when engaging their leaders. America should play caution to the reality of North Korea’s nuclear chess game before any decision and divisive policy is implemented.

As Kaplan notes:

So for the moment, Obama should keep the Asian allies secure and calm, try to lure China onboard, squeeze the North Koreans as hard as U.N. resolutions allow, and forget about the six-party talks, which have outlived their purpose. (If diplomacy gets serious again, it will be in the form of U.S.-North Korean bilaterals.) Above all, Obama should put the whole subject of North Korea on the back burner, at least in terms of public statements. Don't react to Pyongyang's screams and threats, which will be as hollow as they are torrential. Don't play North Korea's game.

At the same time, Obama should watch for the slightest hint of an overture—and be ready to respond immediately, though maybe in a way that refrains from official commitment. At some point, sending an "unofficial" envoy might be useful—someone like Bill Clinton or Madeleine Albright, who has credibility with the North Koreans, just as Jimmy Carter was the envoy who smoothed the way to opening talks during Clinton's presidency.

I have long thought—and still do think—that North Korea, above all, wants a deal for aid and security, and that its nukes and its missiles are the only bargaining chips it has. It bargains hard, sometimes maddeningly so, but negotiating a deal is possible. It has in fact been done under both Presidents Clinton and Bush 41.
Under the current circumstances, though North Korea—whoever winds up in charge—has to make the first move. Believing otherwise is delusion.

The last thing we need is more Cowboy Diplomacy.

How I feel today...

You'll see one day when you move out it just sort of happens one day and it's gone. You feel like you can never get it back. It's like you feel homesick for a place that doesn't even exist. Maybe it's like this rite of passage, you know. You won't ever have this feeling again until you create a new idea of home for yourself, you know, for your kids, for the family you start, it's like a cycle or something. I don't know, but I miss the idea of it, you know. Maybe that's all family really is. A group of people that miss the same imaginary place.

It has been 3 years since I moved to Chicago. Today my family is relocating from the Northern Virginia area to the Fredericksburg area. It happens to be quite the trend in old stomping grounds to move further and further away from D.C. Odd how everything can change while you are away and so quickly.

Yes. Because the worldviews of John Roberts, Sam Alito, John Paul Stevens, Anthony Kennedy, Stephen Breyer, and Antonin Scalia are not impacted at all by their white male identities. White men are raceless and genderless, haven't you heard?

Also Chicago is becoming worse and worse of a city weather-wise, my patience is running thin...if only California wasn't imploding...oh well.

Here are your highlights:

But the president decided to start what may become a new tradition by sending a wreath to the African-American Civil War Memorial at Vermont Avenue and U Street Northwest in Washington- CNN

Obama did the right thing yesterday. I am one of those who will rage on the South and their undying unapologetic love for the Confederacy, however soldiers who passed on deserve their remembrance. If they get a wreath though so should Americans who fought through much more dire and difficult circumstances.

GOP to re-brand Democratic Party

The Republican Party has been attempting to re-brand and re-establish itself in the nation, going on tours of listening, teaching and smelling. But having failed on their past attempts the RNC has decided to push forward with name calling the Democratic Party instead of re-branding referring to Democrats as the “Democrat Socialist Party.” Insider News of Politics Worldly has some breaking information the GOP was considering other names, but failed my majority vote.

Here were the others for consideration:

The Democratic Pfffftt Party

The Socialist Idealist Moralist Party

Party of the Uppity

Communist Democrat Social Club

We have no clue how to fix things, but either do they Party

Poop on them Party

Socialist of Social Communist Commie Party Democratic Party

Anti-business Party

Party of the Poor

Big Gubbament Party

Anything they do we can do better Party

Jebus doesn't love them Party

The Party of of of of....MOMMMMMYYYY!!!

Michael Steele the current head of the RNC said he does not support the name calling because all the options lacked the words "bling."While Rush Limbaugh referenced the butt four times before concluding the RNC should call the Democratic Party, the Butt Anal Bent Over Party. No word whether or not the GOP will bring ideas that actually work to their next re-branding meeting.

Obama on National Security Cheney on 9/11

Both sides may be sincere in their views, but neither side is right. The American people are not absolutist, and they don’t elect us to impose a rigid ideology on our problems. They know that we need not sacrifice our security for our values, nor sacrifice our values for our security, so long as we approach difficult questions with honesty, and care, and a dose of common sense. That, after all, is the unique genius of America. That is the challenge laid down by our Constitution. That has been the source of our strength through the ages. That is what makes the United States of America different as a nation.

It was a historic speech and in contrast we had Dick Cheney.

9/11 was mentioned at least 25 times and he admitted to breaking the rule of law.

It is a fact that only detainees of the highest intelligence value were ever subjected to enhanced interrogation. You've heard endlessly about waterboarding. It happened to three terrorists.

And the hypocrisy.

And to call this a program of torture is to libel the dedicated professionals who have saved American lives, and to cast terrorists and murderers as innocent victims.

I smell "bad apples."

There was no debate about national security. One guy is the President and attempting to build our nation and move forward while learning from our past. And another is guy still telling you to fear brown people and if you disagree with him you are Un-American.

It's Thursday that means we have a new American Idol and it's... it's Kris Allen? Guess America still hates the "flamboyant", I smell a Clay Aiken retread. I didn't watch much of this year because it really came down to Danny Gokey and Adam Lambert for me and once I heard Kris Allen was in the final it was over in my mind. America votes for the "more likable" guy. But you know what was cool? Adam Lambert singing Queen! You could see the guitar legend Brian May drooling over the Freddy Mercury-esque vocal runs. It was rocktastic. Regardless both will have decent careers and the pie on the face of my local paper for running story after story of Adam is rather funny. Both guys have promising careers, there is always room for another Jason Mraz and America needs a Freddy Mercury. Wow. Did I really just dedicate that much analysis to American Idol?

Netroots Nation from the Shadows

I must preface this by saying I was in costume, hidden in the shadows and completely undetected, so for those of you worried about my ninja guise being unmasked fear not...thank American Apparel.

This past Saturday I had the opportunity to attend the Netroots Nation Salon in Chicago. The salon actually took place north of Chicago in the Rogers Park neighborhood joint, the No Exit Café. Along the walls Che Guevara posters and photos hung crookedly. The place reminded me of a lost era where worn wooden floors were a sign of customer traffic not deterioration. I entered as the panelists took to the stage with host Matt Filipowicz welcoming each one WWE announcer style. It was a rowdy start. The crowd was for the most part over 30 and white which was discouraging, however what I expected. Considering the locale of the venue and normal café-goers I did have a smidge of hope it would be a diverse crowd. *Sigh* We did fill the place to the brim, but that should be the case every time.

The panel included four respected voices on progressive issues, seated left to right:

Veronica Arreola, Viva La Feminista
Greg Palast, BBC, author of Armed Madhouse
Rick Perlstein, author of Nixonland, Before The Storm
Matthew Filipowicz, Huffington Post, Headzup.tv
Ed Yohnka, ACLU-IL, Director of Communications And Public Policy

It began with Filipowicz discussing the current political scope offering his wit to the rage of America. Wing-nuts, torture, Obama oh my! He then was followed by each panelist giving their scope of certain issues, but the question at hand was “How do we set a fire under the feet of Obama?”

For sake of brevity in order:

Palast: I have no clue. The economy is important. Obama is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Appeal to both and you will win. It starts from the ground up. Detroit UAW are fugged. Obama is one cool dude, with juicy pecs.

Yohnka: Torture. Photos. Liberty and justice for all. No one who knows Obama is surprised by Obama. Cautious, central and conservative politician. Pose the questions to his face. Real issues, real people.

Perlstein: FDR history lesson. Past President’s psyche. Obama psyche. What’s facing Obama. Not sure what gets Obama’s goat. 350 million people in the world give him a reason to move.

Arreola: I am a woman and a minority and a mom. 1 out of 4 really? Hillary at least I knew when she would fail me. Obama I don’t trust him. Feminist, racial and people issues. Everybody issues. Obama is a politician.

It was interesting to see such individuals cascade their thoughts about the panel and try to develop (on site) a way to “push the progressive agenda.” Each offered different takes on the questions while postulating about our place in history. However none seemed to really have a definitive answer. Obama's personality was a topic of concern because of policy issues (Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, Torture photos, and single payer healthcare) that deserve immediate attention. Palast argued that the economy and those losing their homes were of gravest concern, while Yohnka countered stating “we can walk and chew gum at the same time. “ It was a rather poignant response that garnered cheers from the audience.

The crowd that did participate in the open question and answer session with the panel mostly made statements. All had concerns about the state of America whether it was the financial sector (crooks and liars), the past administration (crooks and liars) and the current administration (liars not yet crooks). It was interesting how many scattered thoughts could be squeezed into one statement. The panel happened to hop on some of these with more earnest desire than others, but it made for solid discussion.

One point that surfaced through the myriad of discussion was Mayor Mao Daley. Here we were in Chicago gathered together for progressive issues, while we have the Mao of Chicago and his police state. Arreola noted that every time Daley comes up for re-election with a shrug of their shoulders to the corruption her friends check his box. It was the Aha! moment of the night as she and Yohnka pointed out the truth of Mao Daley and his rule.

The idea that it is just as important to push the progressive agenda locally as it is federally was quite the revelation. And it offered perhaps the best answer to the question, Obama is from Illinois. Obama lives in Chicago. If his city, our city, is pushing the progressive agenda aggressively with fervor and intelligence insisting on the change he so aptly campaigned upon, he will have no choice but to listen. The calm, cool and calculated Obama will have to act and act accordingly. Change can be and mean many things, after the salon it was clear change starts with the we and not the he.

For more information regarding the panelists, who I merely highlighted here, there are links on each of their names. I can not do their reputations any justice their works do not already account.

Sexism at its finest

So is that she's a woman? Or maybe that she's a woman with an attitude? Or that she is a woman who is a Democrat? Or a woman with power? Or maybe she's a woman who stands up for herself? Or maybe it's a she? Or they don't know how to behave around a strong woman? Or maybe they just really want to sleep with her because "well woman are only good for one thing", but they are grovelling Neanderthals who have no chance in hell because she is a real woman?

Or they are weak minded men destroying rational thought at every turn and pushing blatantly sexist attacks on a Congress WOMAN.

Get Your Dunkin' Monday

It's Monday ya'll. This weekend was a blur probably because I have officially assimilated to the Borg that is the left wing progressive liberal bias side of the Jedi Order. In other words I met up with some cool people and attended an event for Nations of Nets and just to settle your nerves, yes I was wearing a ninja costume. I have to remain anonymous. Plenty to announce this week, plenty to RAGE about, but

Here are your highlights!

Boxing's loudmouth was silence yet again, Andre Ward dominated.

The Reality of the Housing Crisis

In “My Personal Credit Crisis,” Edmund L. Andrews brings to light the human nature of the housing and credit crisis. It is often forgotten that there are stories out there whether individuals or family that reflect the naivety of homeowners and the draw to live the “American Dream.” We have become a society obsessed with a grandiose ideal that America is a house with a white picket fence waving to our neighbors every morning like Jim Carrey’s Truman. It is a reminder that many bought into this exceptional ideal and lenders had no problem facilitating their “American Dream.”

With all the fervor over the banks and insurers alike the common thread that is missed is that these “professionals” convinced people it was of no worry, it would be alright and now people are suffering. People. Some bet on love, a bonus that never came, a steady job, pension, a promotion, new jobs, and some were so into the idea of a “house” they never stopped to think of all that came with it. Actual people, who were living their lives, working their jobs and essentially they were swindled, the lack of ethical standards amongst lenders to this day is astounding. As Atrios so aptly put it “the ability to repay a loan was of no concern.”

Each story might be different and have its own twist or explanation, but it is infuriating when members of Congress, the Fed and commentators want to dehumanize this crisis (taking banks over people in arguments, missing personal stories in papers and banks refusing to save foreclosure). People are losing their homes, their dreams and their livelihood. Not everyone is as fortunate as Andrews, as he for now is still in his home; some are already out to dry and homeless. To worsen the situation, we are a credit obsessed America and hopefully it has hit its zenith of destruction because if not this crisis will tear at us further.

Congress has passed legislation that brings us back to a bit of reform, regulation and logic, but it is prudent to remember to not go back to any type of legislation that might bring out the piranha-esque financial sector that viciously and vapidly ate the mortgage system to its core. It is apparent that even an aware and informed individual such as Edmund Andrews, can be victim to “professionals” treating people as digits, dollar signs and bottom lines while taking advantage of our pursuit of the “American dream.”

Get Your Dunkin' Friday

WOW it's Friday, thank Jebus. Last night was an awesome show. West Dundee is full of flies and people are sweet there. I was actually told by a family that I would be "famous" in no time after my performance. And no I didn't get them drunk or drug them. This weekend is set to be exciting, I will be attending a Nation of Nets gathering in Chicago, so if you you want to say hello feel free. I am almost certain you will know who I am once you take a look around the room.

Here are your highlights:

Hawks vs Wings, Chicago vs. Detroit...well what's left of Detroit. Should be an awesome series.

The Truth About the Dick, Dick Cheney that is...Wilkerson in this column gives every reason to investigate and actually says what would save the Republican Party.

Dude Perfect- YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS IT'S AMAZING BABY

SERE Instructor tells it as it is

Nancy Pelosi calls the CIA a bunch of liars
...wait an intelligence agency fudged information to further an agenda...the CIA? NEVERRRR!!! But if she did know, then she is a very very convincing story teller and give her a nice cell next to Dick.

Favorite Website of the Day

the headlines says "Obama on why he isn't for single payer health insurance", but in all actuality he is... just not in America and not in our current system. He does offer a solid answer to the debate; we need a public option.

And on a local shout out note, last night I had the opportunity to rock it out and share the stage with some amazing talent. I have many friends in the Chicago stand-up comedy ring, however there are few I had the great honor of "running a room" with downtown. It was a great time for comedy and local talent. The show allowed people to do what they do best, make people laugh. Last night one of those partners in crime took it to another level with his comedy. Here is a clip for your Dunkin' of one of Chicago's finest comics, Joe Kilgallon, one mean Irish dude.

This is RAAAAGGGEEEE!!! And really that is what it is all about ladies and gentlemen. There is a difference between petty blogo rage and the all out rage seen here. Notice the veins in her arms as she yells, the use of the diaphragm to project her message, the consistent in your face tactics; it is text book. I am not sure what they were trying to accomplish, but from now on every time I see Rummy's face I am going to be thinking "WAR CRIMINAL."

....so I guess they got their message across. Peace bra, peace.

Obama to Wear Michigan Jersey at Notre Dame Commencement

funny pictures
moar funny pictures

This Sunday President Barack Obama is set to speak at the University of Notre Dame for the commencement of the Class of 2009. Debate has been abound as many Catholics are in protest of a prominent figure being pro-choice and in favor of stem cell research speaking at the Catholic of Catholicism universitadoms. The President himself has been rather silent about the commencement and what his speech will entail, but Associated People of Socialist Nation Press has the inside scoop.

The President isn't taking this lightly. Known primarily for his calm and cool President Barack Obama is secretly planning to wear an University of Michigan football jersey underneath his cap and gown. Citing anonymous sources of sorcery, the APSNP found that President Obama will actually finish his speech with the fight song of Michigan arguably the most recognizable fight song in the nation.

It is no telling what this will incite as the issue at hand has been differences in policy thus far, but it is sure to start a raging spark of rivalry. The gesture will be the first FUGG YOU the President has offered as he decided to take the high rode with the past boneheads of Arizona State University.

Many have stated this protest and "debate" is a matter of ridiculous posturing while others find it a point of concern for their university, those in the latter will be a group of 50 or so students organized in protest. Of the 50 students 49 will be too drunk to attend commencement and just don't have the heart to tell their parents they wasted their money.
